Make up brush sets

If we choose brush sets and not each brush separately?
A makeup brush set is a great way to go if you enjoy makeup application, you are creative with application and you are always trying new things, and/ or you find its a practical way to purchase makeup brushes since you are starting with few to none.
For the rest of you, namely those who have a very low key, practical approach to your makeup use, would likely be happier with the efficiency of owning exactly what you need…no more, no less (actually, that short list sometimes can be found in a set too).
Makeup sets can range in quantity of brushes depending on the brand or the retail price points manufacturers are trying to
They can also be sold in much larger sets…with a professional range of brush styles (not necessarily pro quality though…buyer beware).  This is where one would ask themselves, “Realistically, will I use all of these brushes?”
Makeup brushes sold in sets usually create better value per brush because of the price break of selling multiple items.  If, however, you buy too many, with ones you will never likely never use…you of coarse lose the value. So, make sure you choose a brush set that suits your makeup needs.  As with any purchase, its your judgment call, so do some homework, examine the quality components listed, and review consumer comments
Most good brush sets include at least some variation of these five:
  • a large powder brush
  • a blush brush
  • an eye shadow brush
  • an eyeliner brush
  • and a lip brush
…and in a nutshell those are the bare bone ‘essential’ brushes that one would need to complete the basics of a good makeup application…
My essential brushes shortlist includes those above, plus three more…
  • a concealer brush…this step is key to an even skin tone (for most of us)
  • a foundation brush…a must have for any liquid application makeup
  • lashes & brows brush…separating clumps out of lashes and grooming brows into place can make or break the polish and presentation of your overall impression
Sephora’s own brand offers a wide range of quality brushes, but particularly good value sets…If you want an essentials type set, that includes my essential brushes list, take a look at Sephora’s ‘Perfect Ten’ Makeup Brush Set.
Plus one tool that makes a tremendous difference for everyone…
